About
Gary Boseley
Having grown up in the tiny town of Cowangie in the remote Mallee region, Gary has a passion for rural Australia and the great outdoors. Working as a professional photographer, based in Mansfield, for many years Gary spent countless hours roaming the Victorian High Country producing spectacular photos and meeting people from all walks of life.
A chance encounter with a retiring Alpaca shearer 17 years ago saw him put down his camera and delve in to the world of shearing and caring for these eccentric animals. Not everyone would throw themselves into a career like this but it has been the perfect fit for Gary. The work isn’t easy, but getting the job done well brings a lot of satisfaction.
The business has grown quite organically, word of mouth mostly, and now Gary travels all over Australia shearing Alpacas and building strong relationships with other Alpaca devotees. It is these long lasting friendships and rapport that Gary enjoys most about his job….he finds the owners of Alpacas are nowhere near as temperamental as their flock!
